The Women of Ndangane are enthusiastic entrepreneurs and have taken advantage of the Jef Jel Microfinancing opportunities to start their own businesses.  So far most of the businesses are agricultural- growing, harvesting and selling fresh produce.  Once they begin to generate a profit, the women have been diligent about paying back the loans.  

The financing of the threshing machine by Jef Jel has added another opportunity for Ndangane to create jobs and generate income for the community.  The threshing machine is specifically designed quickly strip the harvested millet of its grain so that it can be taken for further processing and end up as meals on the table.…

In 2017 the village of Ndangane began preparing a plot of land for growing Cashew Trees. The fruit from these trees can be extremely profitable and provide a highly-nutritious food source. This project is in the very early stages and we will be monitoring its progress closely.

Chickens Through the investment of Jef Jel, the Ndangane community was able to construct a large building designed specifically to support the raising of broiler chickens in 2012.  These chickens are produced in lots of approximately 500.  Once they are fully grown (about 8 weeks), the chickens are prepared and sold to the local community…
